Bambu Lab Laser Module for H2D and H2C

Expand the capabilities of a compatible Bambu Lab H2D or H2C with a Bambu Lab Laser Module. Available in 10W and 40W configurations, these 455 nm blue semiconductor laser modules add precision laser engraving and cutting capabilities to the H2 Series platform, allowing users to work with compatible materials including wood, rubber, leather, dark acrylic, metal sheet, stone, and more.

Both laser modules integrate directly with the H2 Series ecosystem and utilize Bambu Lab's vision-based positioning and Micro LiDAR height measurement technology to simplify material alignment and establish the correct processing height. Built-in safety monitoring, air assist, and automated positioning features further integrate laser processing into the H2 Series workflow.

Choose Between 10W and 40W Laser Power

The Bambu Lab Laser Module is available in two power levels to accommodate different laser engraving and cutting requirements.

The 10W Laser Module is designed for detailed engraving and lighter cutting applications, with a 455 nm ±5 nm blue laser, a fine 0.03 × 0.14 mm laser spot, engraving speeds up to 400 mm/s, and the ability to cut up to 5 mm basswood plywood under specified conditions.

The 40W Laser Module provides substantially greater laser power for more demanding cutting applications. It delivers 40W ±2W of laser power, a 0.14 × 0.20 mm spot size, engraving speeds up to 1,000 mm/s, and cutting capability of up to 15 mm basswood plywood under specified conditions. The higher-power module is particularly suited to users who expect to perform more cutting or work with thicker materials.

Precision Positioning and Automatic Height Measurement

Both laser modules use the H2 Series vision system for XY positioning, with Bambu Lab specifying positioning accuracy of less than 0.3 mm. A dedicated 850 nm ±5 nm infrared height-measuring laser works with the system's Micro LiDAR technology to measure the workpiece and establish the appropriate processing height. Bambu Lab specifies Z-height measurement accuracy of ±0.1 mm for both laser configurations.

This integrated positioning system helps simplify setup when working with different materials and workpiece heights. The H2 Series can also use its vision capabilities to assist with material alignment and laser project setup.

Built-In Air Assist

Both the 10W and 40W Laser Modules incorporate a built-in air pump rated at 30 kPa and 30 L/min. Air assist directs airflow toward the laser processing area to help clear smoke and debris from the cutting path, reduce residue, and improve the consistency of laser processing.

Because the air pump is integrated into the laser system, users do not need to add a separate external air pump for standard operation.

Laser Engraving and Cutting

The Bambu Lab Laser Module expands the H2D and H2C beyond 3D printing into digital laser fabrication. Compatible applications include engraving graphics, text, logos, patterns, and other designs, as well as cutting suitable sheet materials for signs, decorative pieces, prototypes, templates, models, and custom products.

Bambu Lab lists wood, rubber, metal sheet, leather, dark acrylic, stone, and other materials among the supported material types. Material performance varies based on composition, thickness, density, color, and other characteristics, so users should always verify that a material is appropriate for laser processing before use.

The 10W version is well suited to detailed engraving and lighter cutting applications, while the 40W version provides additional power for thicker materials and more demanding cutting work. The 40W model also increases the maximum engraving speed from 400 mm/s to 1,000 mm/s.

Integrated Laser Safety Features

The H2 Series laser system incorporates multiple safety and monitoring features designed to monitor the laser during operation. Both modules support flame detection, temperature detection, door detection, and laser module installation detection. A safety key is also included with the laser module.

Bambu Lab classifies the individual laser module as a Class 4 laser product. When the printer's protective systems are complete and functioning properly, Bambu Lab states that the complete printer and laser system operates as a Class 1 laser product. Users should follow all Bambu Lab installation, operating, ventilation, and laser safety requirements when using the module.

A More Capable H2 Series Fabrication Platform

Adding a Bambu Lab Laser Module allows compatible H2 Series machines to move beyond additive manufacturing and into laser-based fabrication without requiring a separate desktop laser system. Depending on the selected laser power, users can choose a configuration optimized for detailed engraving or increased cutting performance.

The integrated laser workflow makes the H2D and H2C versatile platforms for product personalization, signage, prototyping, custom gifts, woodworking projects, leather goods, decorative products, and other digital fabrication applications.
