xTool M2

The Easiest Craft Laser with Color Printing for Everyday Making.

The xTool M2 is a versatile desktop laser cutter and engraver that combines precision laser processing with full-color CMYK inkjet printing in one compact machine. Designed for everyday making, the M2 can cut and engrave a wide range of materials while its CMYK printing module adds full-color graphics to compatible materials. This combination makes it possible to create custom signs, stickers, labels, decorations, keychains, personalized gifts, packaging, layered artwork, and other projects without moving between separate printing and cutting machines.

The xTool M2 uses a 10W or 20W blue-light diode laser module for cutting and engraving, with a 3W infrared module also available for engraving metals and certain plastics. The 10W and 20W laser modules provide a 426 × 320 mm (16.7" × 12.6") processing area, while the infrared module provides a 412.5 × 310 mm (16.2" × 12.2") working area. The 20W laser can cut basswood up to 10 mm thick in a single pass under xTool's specified conditions, while the 10W module can cut up to 8 mm basswood. Laser engraving speeds can reach up to 600 mm/s.

One of the M2's defining features is its ability to combine full-color printing and laser cutting in a single workflow. When equipped with the CMYK inkjet module, the M2 can print full-color designs onto compatible materials and then precisely cut around the printed artwork. This print-then-cut capability is useful for producing stickers, labels, tags, custom shapes, signs, cake toppers, decorative pieces, and other color-printed projects. The water-based CMYK ink is intended for compatible porous or receptive surfaces, including paper, fabric, and certain boards, while suitable coatings may be required for some smoother materials.

The M2 is built around xTool's ACS™ intelligent workflow and dual-camera positioning system. Its cameras help users preview the work area and position designs accurately before processing, reducing the need for manual alignment. xTool Studio provides an integrated design and machine-control environment and supports common file formats including SVG, DXF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and more. The M2 connects to a computer through USB or Wi-Fi and is compatible with Windows and macOS.

The xTool M2 is designed to process hundreds of materials depending on the installed module. The blue-light diode laser can cut and engrave materials including wood, acrylic, leather, paper, cardboard, bamboo, stone, and certain metals, while the 3W infrared module is intended for engraving stainless steel, copper, aluminum, precious metals, anodized aluminum, and certain plastics. Material compatibility varies by module and material composition, and xTool recommends consulting its material guidelines before processing unfamiliar materials.

For added convenience, the xTool M2 features a built-in air assist pump, eliminating the need for a separate external air pump. The enclosed machine is classified as a Class 1 laser product and incorporates safety interlocks that stop the laser when the protective cover or baseplate is opened or removed during operation.

With its combination of laser cutting, engraving, optional infrared metal engraving, full-color CMYK printing, camera-assisted positioning, and print-then-cut capability, the xTool M2 provides a flexible desktop solution for makers, small businesses, educators, designers, crafters, and anyone looking to produce personalized products and creative projects from a single machine.
