Protopasta Recycled Carbon Fiber PLA has all the same features and benefits as our Original Carbon Fiber PLA. Like the original, it creates a desirable, high-quality, low-gloss finish. The material is stiff and does not bend much before breaking. While the feeling of a stiff material is not for everyone, those that understand and appreciate it know that it's good for very strong parts that won't change shape before breaking. This failure mode, while shocking, is fine as long as parts are designed not to break or not put in an over-stressed situation. The low warp in combination with high stiffness also makes for great tools and fixtures on the shop floor. Its also great for moving parts or anywhere tight tolerances are required. For this recycled version, we choose a value-oriented 1 kg size for more continuous printing with less cost without sacrificing quality.
